Nan's Dad as a Young Man

The young man holding the horse's head is Nan's Dad, Herbert Goode, who was born in 1885. He was a "a man's man" he was a yeoman farmer, butcher, haulier, and was in the Great War.
The house behind was No.1 Bullring, Nuneaton, and Nan[Grace Goode] was born in the room immediately above the cart in the picture. [Don't know who was the other guy in the piccie.]
So folks you have seen three Great-great-grandparents of Grace, Jack etc. tonight so watch this space for more pictures and stories............God Bless You All - Goodnight Posted by Picasa

Mum and I reckon he was about 18 years of age when the picture was taken so that would be about 1903 - over 100 hundred years ago - it's marvellous isn't it? He had just won a competion.
